Greycourt CIO Friedman Leads Institute for Private Investors Roundtable
Greycourt's Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director Greg Friedman led an Advisor Roundtable in San Francisco hosted by the Institute for Private Investors (IPI) on the topic:
"Open Architecture: The Solution or the Problem."
As IPI observed, "Private investors are increasingly shunning traditional one-stop-shopping 'closed architecture' investment houses in favor of unbundled 'open architecture'
platforms. In response to this market demand, providers of all stripes are now claiming to offer open architecture services."
Mr. Friedman explored the following questions:
- What exactly constitutes an open architecture provider?
- How is open architecture working for large and small firms?
- What are the challenges that still need to be addressed?
- What conflicts are the open architecture firms avoiding, and what conflicts are they creating?
- How are firms using open architecture - multi-manager approach, core/satellite, etc?
- What are the latest developments and how are they unfolding?
- What might be the future trends in open architecture?
