Corporate Philosophy
Home : About Greycourt : Corporate Philosophy
Greycourt’s philosophy of open architecture has been our guiding principle since the firm’s inception. We believe that serving our clients as a true open
architecture firm will help them achieve better long-term, risk-adjusted investment results.
What is Open Architecture?
We offer no investment products of our own and are completely independent from the rest of the financial services industry. For our clients, the peace of mind
that comes from working with an advisor not beholden to anyone but the client is invaluable.
We recommend only best-in-class money managers and other wealth advisors, choosing firms based on the combined factors of experience, skills, discipline, and results. Rather
than having a modest knowledge of thousands of managers, we are committed to knowing a smaller group of managers extremely well. Greycourt’s exclusive list of
recommended managers must successfully navigate an extensive review process, including an intensely qualitative analysis conducted by a senior managing director of the
firm. Such direct interaction with managers differentiates Greycourt from many of its competitors and provides a platform attractive to potential managers who are truly best-in-class.
We employ “best investment practices” throughout the advisory process, which are those practices that have proven themselves through use in the portfolios of the world’s largest
and most sophisticated investors.
In addition to our day-to-day advisory work, all Greycourt managing directors seek to advance the state of knowledge in our industry, principally by writing and publishing a series of white papers and articles for industry journals. While the main services offered
by top advisory firms are similar, the degree of thoughtfulness brought to those services can differ very significantly.
